Michael started in textiles in the early 70’s,
working for the most creative circular knitters at the
time, UK Exquisite Knitwear. After they were taken over by
the Courtaulds Group he was involved in the development of
their new textile bonding division, which was a burgeoning
new fashion in the days of Biba and Mary Quant and the very
young and radical Katherine Hamnett. Successful as that
was, he found that the corporate life was not for him so he
joined Alcor International, an American merchant convertor
specializing in designer
fabrics for the vibrant fashion industry in London’s
West End.
For the last twenty years he has been representing some of the leading fabric producers in France and Italy, marketing and developing their collections for the English Market.
He is a keen fencer and will soon get back to his passion of flying old planes. Michael was introduced to Stuart and Anne through a mutual friend and he is now a driving force behind the introduction of sustainable textiles in Europe.
