Continuum Textiles has a strong and collaborative relationship with ABMT, with a shared commitment to creating positive change.
Based in Australia, with additional production in China, ABMT is recognized for its skill in developing and producing technically challenging fabrics. ABMT uses leading edge technology and best management practices to produce high quality finished fabrics and to significantly lower the environmental impacts normally associated with textile manufacturing. A few examples of ABMT’s commitment include:
- Wastewater treatment: ABMT is currently the only textile plant in Australia and one of only a few in the world achieving over 85% re-cycling from spent reactive dye-baths. In addition to this, they re-cycle over 95% of the waste salt from in our dyeing process (this equates to over 5,000,000 ltrs per annum of highly concentrated salt waste)
- Dyeing technology: The dyeing machines used by ABMT utilize Ultra Low Liquor Ratio (ULLR) dyeing conditions that provide significant savings in energy, water and chemical us; up to 80% less chemicals are used in the “Air-Jet” dyeing machines.
- Drying and curing technology: The selection of efficient drying and curing technologies optimize and reduce energy usage and emissions to air.
ABMT Australia is an ISO9001 quality accredited company, as well as being Lycra assured as part of the Invista program.
